Frequently Asked Questions - Clinical Trials London

There are numerous questions that people volunteering for clinical trials want the answers to before the commit to participating. Here are just a few of the most commonly asked questions:

Will I receive payment for my participation?
In one word the answer is YES!!! The amount that a person will be paid will depend on the amount of time that they spend taking part in the trial. This means that you will earn far more by taking part in a study that is going to take 2 or 3 weeks than you would if you partake in one that is just overnight.

What if I am taking prescription medications already?
In most cases the answer is no. This is because researchers want to be able to assess the effects of the medication on people that are not being treated for any underlying conditions. This way they can get an accurate account of how the new medicine reacts on the volunteer’s body.

Can I volunteer if I am taking the birth control pill?
YES!!!! You should also be a ware that while female volunteers participate on trials they are asked to use contraception of some kind to ensure that they do not get pregnant while testing out new medications.
